So if you don't bring your own food on SH, except for Band 4, you don't get to eat at all? I can understand it (sort of) if you are doing just LHR-CDG-LHR but any duty beyond about 5 hours, I think all the crew should be fed.
How about pilots? Do they get fed on all flights or also only on Band 4?
I think it we are scheduled to operate a duty of 9 hours or more, then we will be provided with a meal... but that is mainly band 4 flights, with the odd FCO or maybe ARN or AGP with a slightly longer turn around that may trigger it... It has been like this since I joined...
If I do not bring something, or buy something in the airport, then no, I would not have anything to eat during the flights.
Pilots, yes, they get fed almost every sector, and depending on the time of day, also on shuttles, and Band 1 flights, but they are quite complex with their duty times and amount of sectors etc... Band 4 flights, they will be catered each way with a full meal, where cabin crew will have one meal.
