However, if it is possible to postpone your flight until you are over your cold, I think you should do that.

I once had to fly with a heavy cold (flying home after catching a cold while vacationing in Fiji). With a blocked nose and being unable to equalise the pressure in my ears, I was in agony with earache. I was deaf for 2 days on my return home. I will now try to never fly when have a cold, but I also routinely carry nasal congestant drops as part of my 3-1-1 liquids.
