Turns out it was only a dual band GSM, how Verizon could market a phone as a "world phone" and have it only a dual band I have no idea. It got dropped by accident into my Coke and I now use a quad band AT&T.
UH - Dual band is just fine for outside the US. The United States (and Canada) are pretty muchthe only countries in the world where they use anything other than GSM 900 and GSM 1800.
PLUS - in countries with GSM 850 and GSM 1900 (US, Canada), Verizon wants you to use CDMA roaming.
There is nothing at all wrong with a dualband GSM worldphone. Everywhere in the world you'll find the 2 frequencies supported by 900 and 1800.
Which countries could you not get it working?
