I make many tight connections (40 minutes or so) at CLT - it's a small airport (for its volume) and you can walk from one end to the other in 10 minutes. Never had a problem with luggage.
However, you're pretty tight and any delays will likely blow you up, but that's the chance you take. For whatever reason, I see MANY very tight connections offered through here. A friend just had a 35 minute connection for Christmas, which the ice and snow blew up.
