Also, any cards that use the Visa or Mastercard network are charged 1% by the network + you pay any surcharge imposed by your card issuer (see First Card thread in United). So Diners is definitely the right choice - the rates have seemed fine to me. In fact, about a year back I bought an airline ticket for USD$100 in India with my CAD Diners, and returned it later. I actually benefitted on the exchange (was charged CAD$142, refunded CAD$149)
