Since you seem to be arriving internationally there I would not go with a connection that short. This is nothing specific to your itinerary or you, I wouldn't try it myself (I'm a US Citizen) through *ANY* US airport. For the last decade I've made at least one international trip/year and I would say it would be iffy to make the baggage recheck cutoff. More than once I've been unable to standby for a flight 2 hours after arrival because of the cutoff--I would never actually book the ticket that close.

Exactly when you arrive can make quite a difference at customs. If the plane is a little early we've cleared immigration in 5 minutes--a little late and it can be 45+ minutes when a few jumbo jets dump a big crowd all at once.
