Has anyone been extensively questioned by US customs after visiting the middle east?

We will be on a RTW honeymoon where we will be visiting Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Dubia, & Egypt (+ Cuba and many more countries)- US will be our transit to Caribbean and last stop.

Im concerned we will be extensively questioned at Miami airport and may miss our connecting flight to the Caribbean. (2 hrs connection time)
