I've spent dozens of nights at the Crowne Plaza over the years when working in Westchester. It's a perfect location for the nicer of the local malls (I believe it's called The Westchester), basically down the block. There's also a Whole Foods/Cheesecake Factory across the street on the other side of the hotel.
I'm not sure about the hours for the shuttle to the Metro North station, but it's a pretty short ride.
