Diners [Germany]: Is it worth it?

As a relatively frequent traveler, usually from 2-4 times per month with a mix of 3 day to two month stays I frequently find myself juggling cards, for their various benefits forex rates etc. One thing that is becoming more important to me however is access to lounges and decent customer service, plus good card acceptance. Amex (which I carry) has very mixed acceptance in different countries ranging from good to almost non-existent. However I heard that Diners can now be used on the Mastercard network, is this correct? Also the cost is not too high €80, which compares very well (when comparing services) to high-end Amex cards.

For me the main things I look for in a card are:
- access to lounges
- good service when I need it (worldwide)
- decent line of credit, especially when stays become longer than expected
- good acceptance
- decent insurance!

Anyway I would appreciate anyones views on Diners, from acceptance to service? Should I move to Diners and dump my normal Mastercard or Amex?

Cheers,

rod
