don't forget that there are 3 dimensions in space, and they might not have been at the same altitude The alarm might have just reported that the safety altitude requirements were not respected anymore. aircraft corrected their route to get back to reglementary safe altitudes. If they were at the same level... it would have been very scary indeed and for sure the airfrance pilots would have gone on strike or in the news for a very near miss.
