If it were me, I think that other than getting a 1:2 conversion to Hilton, using MR points for hotels is too expensive. The conversion to Starwood is 3:1, so to get the 10,000 points/night you'll need will cost you 30,000 MR points/night ... that's pretty steep. Of course, if you stay for five nights you can at least get the fifth night free ...
If you have your heart set on spending MR points though, you might also consider the "Featured Hotel Partners" ... you can get the Ritz-Carlton Maui for 35,000 MR points/night through AMEX.
