On another note, why you wouldn't choose the day flight out of HKG instead ? it would only make you have two hours connection time.
I booked the ticket from Asiana directly. I think the booked the cheapest upgradable fare and I had to fly at midnight from Hong Kong to Korea, have a 12 hour delay and then fly from Korea to Los Angeles. Live and learn I guess. Next time, I will need to ask them if that is the one with the shortest connection time.
Anyhow, I got denied in Korea even after talking to Supervisor. I just pony up and stayed in the transit hotel at the airport. All I needed was a bed and a shower.
