It would be helpful to keep this thread going by postings from those of us who have been victims of stolen baggage so UA can see stolen baggage is a real problem for its customers.

On a recent HNL-ORD-STL flight, one of my checked "bags" was a new scanner in the original box which was delivered late to my residence. The box arrived later in the evening several hours after my arrival but was completely empty.

UA is going to replace the scanner but the whole episode is not only a violation of our trust in UA but also an inconvenience.
