I do not know. Mayakoba is the only BT I have stayed at. That said, there are some presumably smart hotel people sinking a ton of money into the Mayakoba development. I think they will lose their shirts, but the reviews on trip advisor (perhaps from folks who have not traveled to more compelling locations?) are pretty spectacular. I am not a golfer, but perhaps that is a draw to Mayakoba that is not reflected in my review.
