To answer my own question, I called and found out that it used to be the Wyndham Palm Springs (#55 of 60ish PSP hotels on TripAdvisor!)
It has been completely refurbished, and just switched over to be a Renaissance a few weeks ago.
The pool is still under construction, but otherwise it's all open. Still not sure, since I thought we might like to sit by the pool, though it's winter and the price is right...... thoughts?
