I think that the only way you get OP miles is by booking the flight on CO all the way through to your final destination (which includes the HA segment) and that usually is much more expensive than just doing seperate bookings. Alternatively, you can call HA book higher fare class flights in order to qualify for CO mileage. That's still a lot less expensive than what CO gouges for booking thru on continental.com. Someone mentioned that CO (by phone) can sell you the HA-coded flight and add it to you CO itiniery - saves the hassle of checking thru bags on seperate itinieries.
