EL Al is a relatively small airline with 37 planes and 45 destinations. Try doing that with a real major airline.
Also, the Israeli screeners are highly trained and sophisticated individuals, often ex-military, and quite different from the CATSA people. It's hard to see how we could even find such people in the numbers required, let alone pay them.
