Who: management in software development for a very large Bay Area software co, fly out of SFO even though I live closer to SJC
When: requalified 1P back in March, slogged to 1K on Dec 21
How: pretty even mix of business & personal travel, MRs at the end because I had to make 1K *once* (in my pre-FT days, I once got to about 97k and had an extravagant offer from United to buy the last 3k [it seems like it was something like $2000] and skipped it... I didn't think of a MR..........!!)
Where: a couple of India jaunts to visit my legions of minions (work), so many PS trips to NYC (wedding planning and execution) they blurred together, and a splattering of MR (Boston x 2, Tampa, and New Orleans) to get from about 68k to 100k.
Why: at 6'8", I'm the guy that pats you on your shoulder and says "I'm sorry, recline just doesn't work in your seat today" when you're trying to crush my knees in E-. E+ is a almost bearable if I can empty out the magazines! But, exit row, 'tis the promised land. As for 1K, I just wanted to see if it was really worth all the hoopla.
What: let's see how these plans work out for 2010... India in Feb (business), Cairo in March (leisure), Germany in June (combination) with a probable India sidetrip in August, New York PS in November (NY marathon), Australia/NZ in December (leisure). Looking forward to using a Global Entry kiosk for the first time in 2010.
