i side with the OP. he's asking a legit question. if he's planning to take this route many times, it's fair to ask how often it gets diverted, so he knows if he should keep booking this route.

i say this from personal experience. what a horrible thanksgiving it was in 2000 or maybe it was 1999. i think it was 2000 i can't exactly remember. but i had a flight from sna to sjc. and we were delayed for some reason so we missed the curfew window (for some reason, i thought it was 10pm), but anyway, they bussed us to lax. well, we were delayed again, so we were going to miss the sjc curfew (i didn't even know one existed). so instead of flying sna-sjc, we flew lax-sfo. and aa was HORRIBLE. they had like 1 bus for all passengers on the plane (i think it was an md80) so we all sat there, at about 4:30 in the morning at sfo figuring out how we'd all get back to the south bay. i had met an old high school friend on the flight and we met several others (we had a very long bonding experience) so we just split a cab. AA was so cheap they didn't even reimburse us for the cab. but we finally got home. i got into bed about 7am, called work and said i woudln't be making it in.
