EB Seat Saving Experience
Hats off to the FA on the xmas flight from Fort Lauderdale to Austin. My wife and I both purchase EB when we fly (no seat saving) and sat in the 2 seat exit row. A lady behind us in line (obviously with EB) sat in the 3 seat exit row aisle seat and placed a package in the window seat, saving for her husband (guess he had around B20). The FA tried to explain that this was open seating and someone may want to sit in the middle and window seat as these are prime seats. The passenger argued that she understands open seating but it doesn’t say anything when booking that she can’t save a seat. The passenger argued for almost 5 minutes with the FA. I tried to explain to the passenger that people pay EB for all members in the party (like me) and should not be denied good seats because someone else buys EB for only one person in their party. It didn’t do any good because the passenger gave me the same excuse. I can see why the FA’s don’t confront passengers more often about these situations. The sparks would have really flown if a couple decided they wanted those two seats before her husband got on!
Again, I really appreciated the FA stepping up to the plate and at least confronting the passenger.
