I'm flying from MNL to EWR. I already have a HKG/EWR ticket but my trip now starts in MNL. I have a few choices, Philippines Airlines, Cebu Pacific or Cathay.

Which one will give me the fewest baggage woes.

I know that I can check through on Philippines (done it before on my way in).

Any thoughts?
