Unwanted Sears Posting

Back on 10 Dec, I attempted to order a $5 gift certificate from Sears. For some reason, the order was rejected, my credit card wasn't charged and I got this email.
Dear Tiki,

Thank you for your recent order at sears.com. Unfortunately, we are unable to authorize your purchase at this time. Your order has been canceled. We invite you to return to our web site and place a new order. sears.com accepts Sears Card, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

Personal order details deleted.
This was done on my husband's account as one of the transactions to get the tally up to 5 unique stores. When the order was rejected, I did another transaction at Omaha Steaks to fill this requirement.

Now I see this on his account:

12/10/2009 12/21/09 DIVIDEND MILES SHOPPING MALL 10

This has to be the Sears transaction that was rejected so why is it being posted? Now I am worried that he will have 11 transactions and the final Sharebuilder one which I did on 24 Dec won't count.

How do I handle this? Email them and ask them to delete it? Do they just delete them or do a separate line item as a reversal so this item is still on the account?

Thankfully TIB posted as:

12/20/2009 12/23/09 TRACKITBACK.COM WORRY-FREE TRAVEL MILES 12,000

So TIB will be either the 9th or 10th transaction. There are 3 transaction that still haven't posted yet. 21st Century and Biscoff were both done on 11 Dec but won't post until next year but I think they will post with the actual transaction date on them. The final Sharebuilder account was created 23 Dec and I put the automatic investment in on 24 Dec so it can't predate the TIB, (the 3000 points will post on 29 Dec) but could be superceded by the 21st Century or Biscoff.

So what do I do about this unwanted Sears posting and why did they even post it when the transaction was rejected?

Has anyone ever established which date is the one that counts for determining the order? The first one or the second one?

This wasn't an issue until now because I only put 10 transactions on both our accounts.
