Lufthansa promotes a section of their website to student fares entitled GenerationFly that is supposed to allow student to look at unpublished and discount fares, as well as give students one free date change on their tickets.

Looking at the fares though, I can never find anything but expensive published fares. I've tried several combinations trying to find anything cheap to Europe and I keep getting fares upwards of $900. I've even found cheaper published fares at half the price for the same flight.

Has anyone actually found a student discounted ticket, and is this program really nothing more than to try to attract students to pay full price?
