You are entitled to Compensation from the airline after 24 hours away from home. Interim expenses do not apply if you are on you return segment.
No if you have insurance all you need is your file refrence # that Air Canada gave to you at the airport. Also the delivery company will have you sign the Baggage Delivery Order. AC uses computer generated slips as well as manual ones. Have the delivery driver sign the computer generated slip with local time of delivery. This should do it.
