12/12 - "Promotion Period" terminated by BA/Chase

12/19 - Approved for the credit card

So Chase is telling me I don't get the first 50K points because the card was approved after the promotion period ended. My interpretation is that at the end of the promotion period, the offer to NEW applicants expires. Obviously they don't see it that way as they are declining both the initial 50K promotion upon approval and the 50K when you use the card to a specified $ amount within two months.

Lots of good comments back - thanks. I still call out Chase/BA for sleaziness. An offer made that served as the basis to "bait" people into applying for the card should be honored.
I believe u are in the right based on what u have presented.

When an offer is made, typically a transaction has occurred after u accept an offer. Not when u accept an offer they presented and they re-accept. Except with credit cards, you then have to get approved. The only re-acceptance on their part is whether or not to approve u base on the original terms (not after the fact terms that were not disclosed to you). Seems wrong for them to change the terms before they re-accepted. I would think they would be in the right had they rejected your approval, but they didn't do that. They accepted and changed the terms that you did not agree too. I am obviously not a lawyer, but it seems you are in the right.
