Thanks to both of you for this advice. I had called the MVPG desk earlier and they told me it wasn't possible to do this. But that just felt like the wrong answer so I thought I'd try FT before doing the re-dial trick.
I just got the email for my canceled ticket and I will use the full value at a later date under my own name!

Does this always require a call to the Gold desk to rebook, or is there a way to do this entirely on the website? Also, where is this policy documented?
