AA 44/22 Dec JFK-CDG. Woman Delays Flight 2 1/2 Hrs. No compensation given!
Hi all,
I was last night on AA 44 JFK-CDG, full to the rafters following saturday's snow cancellations. A woman with a teenage son and one small child got angry that they were not all seated together, made a scene, then claimed that child was sick and stormed out with the 2 kids. She continued rambling outside.
Instead of offloading their luggage and leaving, paramedics were called "to determine if child was sick". One doctor passenger volunteered to examine child, was escorted out, came back declaring the kid was fine, but the airport police insisted he must be seen by paramedics. this took 90 minutes. At that point, they were declared unable to board, a standby passenger boarded. captain was overheard in the galley "talikng to AA in Chicago" (!!??), "talking to AA in Dallas" (more understandable), but he never made his own decison.
it was then declared that it would be quicker to reboard these troublemakers than offload their luggage. Out went the standby pax. Woman re-boarded to a loud "Booo..." by fellow pax and off we went.
Countless connections missed, business appointments (mine among others), who is responsible ? This is not "Force Majeure", weather or even mechanical. In the front cabin, captain was widely criticized for acting like a wimp.
Any compensation in order ? In addition, woman should be put on "No Fly" list and be made to swim back....
