I think you got it right. One tenth of one percent is a tiny fraction, but with 74 million folks in the program, that little percentage gives a big number.
The 1,000 fliers over 300k are at the tip of the pyramid. The 125k Diamond threshold is a bit lower, and lot wider.
Some people also gauge everything from within the FT bubble. There are far more DL Medallions that are NOT on FT, than you see posting here. I don't think we are a good representation of a "typical" FFer.
