I've made a few transfers from AMEX to Marriott Rewards in the past, and besides posting within 4 days, they've always appeared as a 1-to-1 ratio. I don't find this to be bad, especially in light of the 3-to-1 Starwood ratio.

Edit: After a re-read, I think Beckles meant "poor" as in value, not in ratio.
