I don't know that I judge people on their carryon, but I do notice the nicer bags out there. My carryon is usually a cheap backpack, but my laptop bag is a nice (heavily discounted) Tumi so if people aer passing judgement, they probably think I stole the Tumi.

You can never go wrong with a good bag.
