this happens all the time. it happened to me twice today. phx-las and then back to phx. both flights, it was announced that no hot beverages would be served due to turbulance.

service was then cancelled by captains orders and FA's were ordered to return the carts to the galleys and secure them.

its more about having a cart in the aisle, than the actual service. the FC FA can usually dish out a round of drinks rather quickly, nor do they have to push a cart around the FC cabin.

I can tell you though that my WEST FA friend, cancels service in both cabins when the capatin makes the order. he will not serve FC if Y isnt getting served.
