From my many experiences taking CX879, it is always a long taxi way from the gate to liftoff from the runway. Quite often while at the holding point prior to entering the runway for takeoff, I can see 3-4 planes one by one landing. So during that early afternoon hour, not only is it a heavy amount of flights taking off, but quite a busy period for arrivals into SFO as well.
