Mid-week weather looking bad in upper Midwest

Looks like another significant winter storm is taking shape, with the potential for significant snow in the upper Mississippi River valley Weds/Thu, and freezing rain/sleet at O'Hare. A winter storm watch is already in effect for Eastern Colorado (just barely to the east of Denver) and also much of KS and NE from Tuesday night through Wednesday. I would not be surpirsed if various types of winter weather warnings are posted later today (for Weds-Thu) for areas to the east and northeast of that . . . i.e., extending into the more populous parts of the Midwest.

I am hoping UA issues a relevant travel waiver sooner rather than later for those who would like to try to beat the storm. Doing so strikes me as a "win-win" for both United and its passengers . . . i.e., UA has fewer stranded passengers to deal with, and passengers get to where they need to get in time for xmas. Why wait until the probability of bad weather reaches 90%; do it now when there is time to be proactive rather than reactive.
