Now it makes sense, I thought my camera was adding more "gold" into the picture when I took mine or rather everyone else's was de-saturating the picture

Camera color balance aside, in person it definitely has a hint of gold - in the border, the numbers, the ccv code (for sure), and the amex name. I also kind of think the micro american express scribe in the black background makes it look more charcoal in color than black.

As for the metal it came with a pamphlet stating it was made out of titanium, so I'm assuming it's still titanium.

As for the beveled edges, I didn't have mine before the changes so I don't even know what they looked like!
