I really liked the beveled edge, made sliding it into my wallet much easier. It used to look much more elegant and looked like it took some craftsmanship, now it looks cheap and clunky.

I'm no expert in metals but is it possible that they may have switched to aluminum instead of titanium? Has anyone noticed the same differences in the cards you've been receiving recently?
I just got my Cent a couple weeks ago, the '9' is exactly like an upside '6' so it's kind "hooked". The entire background has very slight goldish micro-lettering that says "american express". There is no bevel so my wallet will need to stretch a bit. A magnet test would work if you wanted to test the aluminum question.
