Changes to the Amex Centurion Card (physical)
I just got a replacement Centurion card. There are some significant differences to what I had before:
1. It no longer has the beveled edges
2. It is thicker
3. Font is much more 'sloppy' (not as sharp) - '9' looks more like an '8'
4. The bare metal seems a bit more 'gold' in tone than silver
I really liked the beveled edge, made sliding it into my wallet much easier. It used to look much more elegant and looked like it took some craftsmanship, now it looks cheap and clunky.
I'm no expert in metals but is it possible that they may have switched to aluminum instead of titanium? Has anyone noticed the same differences in the cards you've been receiving recently?
