My goal is to be able to goto korea and either taiwan or japan. Would this be possible with only 60k? Otherwise i may have to use my BA or ANA miles to make this trip, although i would really like to use these miles since i really dont have much use for them. Thanks
I am quite sure you can just use one airline for the whole itinerary in a standard Asiamiles award ticket. The CX/KA flight only apply when you use more than 1 airline (called mixed carrier award) in the whole trip, as long as it is (CX and/or KA) + (another Asiamiles partner airline*).

* Do take note that Air China (CA) , China Eastern (MU), Jet Airways (9W) are unable to combine with another airline for award flights, if you need to fly with the 3 above airlines, you must use it throughout the whole trip.
