Travelling to Rhode Island via Toronto

Hi,

I'll be going to America at the end of this week, via Toronto and I have a few of questions..

1. I'm guessing that when I get to Toronto from Heathrow I will have to collect my bag from the carousel and get it checked in again? Or will it be automatically transferred onto my next plane for me?

2. How long will it take me to get past customs and security etc? I think I have a gap of about 3 hours between flights.

3. Someone told me that the US sees flights from/to Canada as domestic, so on my return journey via Toronto do I have to be at the airport 3 hours before my flight, or 1 hour, like for other domestic US flights?

Thats all.. fingers crossed the weather will be as lovely as it was this week, can't wait to fly in that Beechcraft 1900D haha.

Thanks!
