Based on my experience of flying AA from DCA to LIM, that is not a bad fare. I have seen worse but I have also seen better. I recently had a reservation for about $400 in April. I agree with you, wait a little longer and check daily for a better rate. I mostly fly Tuesdays to keep the fare down. Have a great trip!
