A LAN deal wouldn't work for me because I'd have to buy a ticket to Miami.
This usually runs around $225-250 from Kansas City. The LAN website doesn't list KC as a departure city.

I also cannot wait until 2 to 6 weeks before traveling. I'm working with a Peruvian company putting together a customized itinerary to travel throughout Peru and hotels will need to be reserved and domestic Peru flights bought. I'll need to pay for the tour in advance. I thought maybe the fares would be down now to encourage people to buy plane tickets during the recession. I'd read where AA's bookings were way off. I hope there will be a big sale in January.
