Well, having a rate that is otherwise impossible for anyone to get doe't really seem like a great comparative measure, but good for you. I clearly have no such negotiation skills.

As for the differences in value, it comes down to where you are flying and which lounges you want to access and when. The same metal/lounge requirement can bite you in many airports. And no access when not flying. Those are decisions everyone must evaluate personally when deciding which way to go with lounge membership.
