I’m getting so fed up with this b***. Either ICH group stops telling us that Platinum is the top level for HI and CP hotels, or they create a new level above Platinum that does get recognition at their hotels. (Maybe they can call it “Ambassador”... )
Platinum members are entitled to complimentary room upgrades (subject to availability). But upgrade to suites or club rooms are (unfortunately) a benefit at the discretion of the hotel.

It makes sense that RAs have better upgrade than Platinum members (and it is the case in some CPs and HIs), especially when guests can choose between IC and CP. The better the upgrade, the more chance to attract RAs to the hotel.
