I used to fly China Air a lot and have seen their lounges (and NWA's at NRT) and these just don't compare. The food offerings are almost nil, the order your drinks from the bar and price lists all over the place for "premium" spirits implies that there should be some expense involved. In the Asian lounges, it's all the booze you can pour!
I think the TV room is a good idea, but at least in IAH they have a remote right there for you instead of asking at the desk like at EWR.
The newspaper selection at EWR is SWEET.
Internet access can be easily sponged from outside the club anyway.
But now I've seen it for myself. And I'll come back too, NEXT TIME it's free!
It is very difficult to compare a lounge in Asia with any US lounge.
You are talking about places that have a separate area for dining, a spa. Sake bars, shower rooms that look like they are from a hotel room.
The PC does not try to compete with anything like that. DL tried to have a separate lounge for INTL BE and it did not work out for them.
The PC is just a regular domestic lounge and it serves it purpose.
