I have just recently won 100,000 Etihad miles and am now looking where to go on holiday next year!

The current favourite is Koh Samui via Bangkok, hopefully with a stopover for 2-3 days in Bangkok.

My questions are;

1) For a 2 week city stopover/beach break on the Etihad network, where is the best destination in your experience?

2) Can we do stopovers on reward tickets in Bangkok?

3) Is it worth paying for Economy tickets and upgrading using miles, or just using miles for free Economy tickets?

I fly Ek all the time and never Etihad so any help on network destinations and things to do once we are ther would be much appreciated.
