Very odd F booking discrepancy: any idea why?

Hi Everyone,

I am in a confirmed C ticket, from NRT-ORD on January 18th, and am waitlisted to upgrade into F. I assume it will clear closer to the date.

The part that is very enigmatic is that when I go to book a full fare seat in F on the ANA website, for Jan 18th, NRT-ORD, the cabin is showing completely empty except for 1A, which is always reserved. (according to the seat map) However, when I phoned the Diamond Service desk, the lady told me that 4 seats are booked and 4 are available. She could not tell me why there is such a marked discrepancy between what is showing online and what is actually booked.

Any ideas? If it were 1 seat, I could understand (overbooking), but 4 seats in an 8 seat cabin?!

Any insight on this matter would be appreciated!
