in my A-Level Computer Science Case study - we developed a cow tracking system ... so I got to know the main breeds .. how random!
Random indeed, and totally unnecessary on my friend's farm!
With 285 cows, if you go to the gate and shout "Tulip-Belle" loudly a couple of times, you will see one particular cow raise her head and then, slowly and deliberately, amble across the field towards you!
When they go to the milking parlour, if they are happy and content, you get a good milk yield. (Since BSE - Blame Somebody Else - if they're destined for the table, you can't keep them longer than 30 months anyway now, otherwise they have to be incinerated.)
Good animal husbandry does that! Why would "Tulip-Belle" need tracking?
