The original plan was to tear down Term A and run the gates along the linear section of the historical terminal (which is currently vacant). NW was to move to the historical terminal and have an access point to the CO PC club upstairs is the historical restaurant of the old main terminal. But with the cheaper rent, NW did not want to move - so Term A has remained. Now NW is DL.
AirTran, Spirit, etc are still in Term A and they create huge lines with the limited security check point area.
Now that NW is gone, maybe there will be new effort to tear down Term A and create the gates along the Historic main terminal. With AC there, and I could see UA moving over there (old main terminal) then the CO PC could become accessible from that terminal as well.
