DCA AC terminal move
I haven't seen this discussed anywhere and there was no announcement on AC.com, but as of Monday Air Canada has been banished to Terminal A at DCA. Apparently they were pushed out to accommodate the NW/DL merger and with only one gate they were easy pickings.
Other than being near the rental car facility, there is nothing good about this move. It felt like a trip back to the 70s with collection of 9 gates in a large open space and constant announcements from discount carrier of the day. Apparently the check-in agent told me to send a request for a lounge as they are trying to put together a case for a shared lounge.
However, until this unlikely event you have to go through security at Terminal B and use the CO lounge and hike.
I'm glad that my DC travel is going to reduce in the new year. This move is almost enough to make we want to fly out of IAD.
