I've done SO many mattress runs at HP Fremont. On my most recent stay they offered me a fruit plate OR 500 points. Up till then I never got anything and had to call to get the points after the fact. I mentioned at check in that the points *never* auto-post (because for the first time I was told I would get the points) 2 stays ago and was offered a free beverage "for the inconvenience" in addition to the points (which did finally post automatically.) I was assured that the problem would be fixed. It seems that they actually fixed the problem.
