I stayed at the Westin Melbourne a couple years back.....I think it would meet your standards. Located a block from Flinders Station/Federation Square......so easy access to Yarra River and could walk to the Tennis. Hotel room was huge, modern and service outstanding.

Enjoy! Was just in Sydney......love Australia!
